Workplace Bereavement Support

Helping Workplaces Navigate Loss with Compassion

Grief does not stay at home. It follows people into every part of their lives, including the workplace. When an employee loses a loved one or when a workplace experiences the death of a colleague, the emotional impact can affect the entire organization.

The Richard Lambert Foundation Family Grief & Healing Center offers workplace grief support and education to help organizations respond with compassion, understanding, and practical guidance during times of loss.

Our goal is to support both employees who are grieving and leaders who want to respond thoughtfully and respectfully.

Why Grief Support Matters in the Workplace

Many people return to work while still navigating profound loss. Without understanding or support, grief can feel isolating and overwhelming.

Compassionate workplace support can:

  • Help employees feel seen and supported

  • Reduce stigma around grief and emotional expression

  • Strengthen team connection and understanding

  • Encourage healthier coping and communication

When organizations acknowledge grief with compassion, they create workplaces where employees feel valued as people, not just professionals.

What We Provide

The Richard Lambert Foundation offers workplace grief support that may include:

  • Educational grief workshops for staff

  • Manager and leadership guidance on supporting grieving employees

  • Facilitated group conversations after the loss of a colleague

  • Resources for navigating grief in the workplace

  • Guidance on healthy coping strategies and emotional well-being

Each organization is unique, and we work collaboratively to determine the best approach for your workplace.

Our Approach

At the Richard Lambert Foundation, we believe grief deserves patience, compassion, and space.

Our approach focuses on creating environments where employees feel safe acknowledging loss while also providing leaders with practical tools to support their teams. Even small gestures of understanding can make a meaningful difference for someone navigating grief.
