Support Groups

Due to the generosity of supporters and donors, we are able to offer our current ongoing monthly support groups free of charge. Participants may attend for as long as they find the program is helpful. Groups provide emotional support, guidance, and educational elements from an RLF therapist. All groups meet in-person on a monthly basis and are open to anyone age 18 and older.

“The Only Cure For Grief Is To Grieve”

Dating & Love After Loss

Our support group for those experiencing the mixed emotions of how grief & love co-exist after the death of a spouse/partner. If you find yourself at the crossroads of contemplating or have begun dating, our group offers a secure and nonjudgmental space to openly discuss various aspects of this journey. Here, you can freely explore topics like dating and the perceptions society may impose, the challenges of communicating with your children about your feelings, the nuances of sexual intimacy, the conflicting emotions of disloyalty and guilt, and the contemplation of when, or if, to remove your wedding ring. Join a community of individuals who comprehend the societal misconceptions surrounding the idea that one cannot or should not seek companionship or love again. We recognize that embarking on a new relationship does not diminish the love you continue to hold for your late spouse or partner. Together, let's embrace the understanding that love has the capacity to coexist and evolve, offering support and empathy as you navigate this unique chapter in your life. Remember that there is no predetermined timeline for when or how one should embrace the prospect of love again. It's a deeply personal journey, and our support group is here to provide understanding, companionship, and a wealth of shared experiences as you consider taking those steps. Our grief therapist will walk alongside the group to help you gain tools and understanding of how grief & love co-exist.

Loss of adult or adolescent child

A group for parents who have experienced a death of an adult or adolescent child. The death of a child is an extraordinarily long and challenging journey. The pain is beyond description, and it can be challenging to live our everyday lives. There is no getting over the loss of your child. This child was a promise to the future, and now you must commit to living and carrying on their legacy as impossible as that seems right now. This life-altering change requires and forces us to rebuild a new life for ourselves and our family without our child in it. The help and encouragement of others, especially from others who have been there, can be therapeutic. Surviving the death of a child takes dedication. You will survive this; however, the experience will change you.

Suicide loss

When a loved one dies by suicide, it defies understanding. Losing someone to suicide can add another level of pain to your grief. You may feel guilty, wondering if you could have done more to prevent their suicide, upset at yourself or others for having missed any clues to their intentions, or even angry at your loved one for leaving you. Join our survivors of suicide loss group where there is no stigma or judgement with others who understand and are on a similar path. While the pain of suicide loss may lessen over time, it will probably never full pass. Slowly, in incremental steps we build a new life that is not dominated by our loss.

Loss of Spouse/Partner

Our Loss of Spouse/Partner is a welcoming and accepting group for anyone experiencing a spouse or partner's death. A spouse/partner's death can cause significant emotional distress and leave you feeling confused, lonely, isolated, angry, scared, and possibly even guilty. Your spouse/partner was a part of your daily life, and now, navigating your life without their physical presence can be complicated and scary. Join others who "get it" for open and frank discussions in a nonjudgmental environment. Being able to share your story or your feelings is vital to the healing process. Talk, laugh, cry, receive encouragement to go on, support one another as you navigate your way to healing and living a fulfilling life. You don't have to do this alone.

Holiday Support & Candle lighting

Join us for a Holiday Support Group and Candle Lighting!
This holiday season, the Richard Lambert Foundation invites you to join us for a special in-person gathering as we bring our support groups together for one night to support you through grief and the holidays. Our holiday support group and candle lighting event is designed to provide support and remembrance during the holidays. Together, we will create a safe and welcoming space where we will have light refreshments, facilitated support, exchange stories, and find support from others who understand your journey. We will remember our loved ones as we light candles in their honor, allowing their spirits to shine brightly in our hearts. Whether you are seeking healing, connection, or simply a place to remember and reflect, we invite you to join us and find solace during this holiday season.
